LX20 series availability?

Hi all - I have a full summer of tractor work to do, and am hoping to upgrade from my current CUT to something slightly larger. I have preordered an LX3520 with Cab based on information saying they will be available “this spring”, having seen this in at least one version of Kubota’s press release and I think a video from last fall. I have noticed in the last week or so that the LX20 series has auto-populated in a lot of Kubota dealers’ sites (I presume pushed from Kubota), but other than that have not seen any reports of anyone having taken delivery of an LX20 series tractor. My dealer knows nothing; I called Messick’s for fun and it wasn’t even in their system yet, and there’s a YouTube video from a dealer in Canada where they said “maybe fall”.

Does anyone know anything more than this? Fall isn’t optimal for me, obviously. I can wait another 4-6 weeks probably, but much longer than that may mean I need to look at other options. Not interested in the LX3310, so it will either be an LX20 from Team Orange, or another brand.

Thanks in advance,
TJ

Thanks very much for this - I hadn’t seen it yet - a whopping 2 hours after the video went up. :)

The snow in the video seems to indicate that it is footage from a while ago (I hope anyway), but he used the words “Prototype” so many times in the video, it doesn’t give me a lot of confidence that it’s close to release.

They had them about 2 months ago to film a Kubota commercial.

There were display models at the Louisville show in Feburary but I've seen no others yet.

When I last checked, the LX4020 was still not available on the Build It site.

They are on the Kubota build it. However I'm not sure if they are here in the US quite yet. Kubota still shows no inventory on them. If i had to guess end of summer, late fall. Parts are readily available.

I'm in northern Ontario, way north of that dealer and it's still snowing here. But mostly bare ground, it's melting a day or two after each fall.

Anyway, I was going to say that new series is not even listed on the Kubota Canada web site and I check it almost daily. It has been on the US site for a while now though.
The only one that got added to the Canadian site in the spring was the L2502.

Good luck finding what you are looking for.
Personally I am a believer of number one figure out the make and model you want when buying new. Second shop the dealer that will do you right if you ever plan to bring it in for service, etc. if the other brands meet you needs and dealer does to me I’d rather wait to get what I want if buying new. Just my opinion. Talk to dealer and see if another size or model they can work with you. Maybe you can find a dealer who wants to sell you another model, could be more tractor if that’s not an issue…if not need MMM, there are lots of options not that far off in price even if bigger than you think you might need. There is nothing wrong with buying a size bigger than you think you need IMO…it’s not my money but if plan to bring in for service, shop the dealer. When service is needed the right dealer is worth more than a couple dollars you may have saved in the initial purchase…again not my money, just my opinion. Good luck.

Thanks. I have a Deere 4110 now. Looking for a cab and somewhat bigger, but need MMM. I drove an LX3310 and an LX2610 with cab. I think I could live with the treadle pedal, but didn't like the jerky and noisy transmission in the current LX series, which is the signature improvement of the new ones, and hence the order placed. If the LX3310 was the only tractor on the planet I'm sure I could use it, but I don't want to pay new money for a tractor with a new model incoming; especially since the new version fixes my gripes with the current version.

On the Deere side the 2038R is about perfect other than no factory cab (aftermarket cabs are kludgy and ugly). I presumed that the 3R series was bigger than the 2R series, but other than weight, it isn't (not in foot print or turning radius anyway; they are slightly taller), and used 3Rs like the 3039R are very price competitive with a new Kubota, so that's likely where I'm going to end up. It will be a little heavy for mowing (LX3520 is ~2600lbs and 3039R is ~3600lbs), but that weight will be good for other things.

I know normal people would use a zero-turn for mowing, but I want only one machine to maintain, and I live on pretty sandy soil, so I don't think the weight will be too bad.

Just checked. LX4020 is still not available on Build It.

LX 3520 has been for some time.
