I'm in the market to buy soon. I'm looking at the L2501, 3301 and 3901. All of the prices I've gotten includes 10K 20ft trailer. Quick attach loader, 5 ft box blade and 5 ft bush hog. The tractors all are HST with R4 tires. The prices are below. I'm located in Georgia and was wondering what others have paid. The main use will be my garden and chores around the property. Thanks.

L2501 $23,300
L3301 $24,957
L3901 $26,150

All things being equal - the L3301 would be my bottom choice, kicking the L2501 out of the picture - the difference in pricing is so small, 1,600 jump from bottom to mid, and a mere 1,100 from mid to high. I would really find a good reason NOT to buy the L3901, 4 more HP - now ,looking at the engine - both have the same engine, the 39 is getting more HP from the same engine....mmmmmm

What does the 39 have that the 33 does not??

You may want to do some research on dpf issues. There is plenty of information out there and very little of it good. I was in your shoes a few months ago but it didn't take much reading before I decided to stay away from dpf. The L2501 is just under the threshold so no dpf.

you are mistaken elkhorn. this is not new tech, the only issues I've heard of was the B3350. there is not any real problems on DPF otherwise. my 4060 has been flawless, there is no reports of issues in the L series at all.

Read the truck forums, there will be problems. As far as I know Kubota hasn't gone to any of the new coolants. That's a whole different issue. Had a friend just lose a 6.4 motor for not paying attention to that.

I really wanted an L3901. I settled for a 2501 because I would rather have a broken leg than a dpf. So far, I have not regretted the decision.

No real issues here, but other forums have reports of a user ignoring the DPF light and alarm to the point his engine grenaded. Owner fault...

I was in the same quandary, looking at the same tractors two months ago.

I decided on the L3901 when my wife spoke up and said, "Get the 4701, you will never regret the extra HP. (and the PTO is much better on the 4701). I was ordering it and the dealer said "The MX4800 is only $800 more and is much more tractor.

I got the MX4800 and am very happy I did.

Do not know if this will help, but folks on this forum helped me. All said go with the bigger tractor if you can fit it where you will be using it.
