I have an older Kubota tractor and need a mechanic. I'm not looking to take the tractor to a big name shop so I'm interested in an honest mechanic that can either handle the work on the side or can come by my shop and do the work there. That will work or a good, dependable shop with an honest quotation can work also. The tractor was running fine, however; I left it sitting for a good while and of course I went to crank it without success. I believe I have a glow plug issue and need to get the engine running again. I don't have the model handy but its an older tractor with clutch not the newer hydrostatic transmission.
I have the tractor in Deer Park so if anyone has a referral I'd gladly appreciate it.

Simple DIY fix that does not take much to tackle youself. I'd start with draining and flushing out the old diesel fuel, replace the filter. Refill fresh new fuel, bleed the air out the system and see what happens.

IMHO draining fuel is a waste of time & money unless it bio diesel made from Soybeans and has been setting several yrs. Contaminants such as dirt/water can be filtered from fuel. The worst thing that could be in fuel is algae and it can be killed. I'd recommend changing fuel filter, bleeding air out of system, checking glow plugs and their operation then starting engine. Glow plugs can be checked with a volt/ohm meter or better yet an amp meter.
