Well started with the PTO shaft and had decided to reseal the gearbox as it was leaking oil after I refilled it not to big of a PIA to get it off and very glad i decided to I found 2 of the taper bearing cages pretty rusted not broken yet but pitting is seriously deep so now its bearings and seals the residual oil was pretty milky so water definitely was present much better now than after it grenades seriously should tear it down the rest of the way and blast and paint it at this point LOL

FINALLY got the gearbox bearings easy peasy to replace them only 1 clip had to be removed. Painted the gearbox casing while I was waiting it looks pretty good. Glad I saved that toaster oven worked great to give the paint a lil bake 200*f for an hour or so and it really flowed evenly

File under you learn something new every day. I just got the new PTO shaft and it’s got the 1 3/8 x6 spline quick connect on both ends. I just fit it to the tractor just for sizing and I was lamenting having to change the yoke to a 1” round with a keyway so I asked Grok AI if there was an adapter to go from 1” round keyway to the 1 3/8 6 spline and low and behold it found it at Agrisupply should be here in a few days as it sits I need to shorten it about 2” I’m sure that will change with the adapter installed. I hope that will make it easier I had to really hammer the old one pretty hard to remove the yoke probably hasn’t been off in a decade lol
