Hi Folks, After 9 years of trouble free service, my BX has developed a serious drip from the middle of the floor pan area. It is unclear where the leak is coming from but it looks like it would be visible/accessible with the floor pan removed. I've watched some videos and they have started with removing ROPS, rear fenders, pedals, etc. Is it a possible (or a big deal) to remove the floor pan only?
The leak started after the tractor was severely stuck in 2 feet of snow and I spent an hour of rocking back and forth, steering etc. I've already received my fair dose of "I told you so's" I do have a mechanical background but the Kubota has been running perfectly to date, so I have zero repair experience with the tractor.
Thank, Peter in Canada

Mine has a leak as well. I always have just a bit on the floor on [sitting on the tractor] right side . I've washed it off and even after running it for couple hrs can't seem to locate the source . I know it comes from higher up on the right side . I suspect one of the seals to do with one of the shafts that go into the side of the case are leaking and the oil eventually finds its way onto the floor. Of course its not to bad to be of concern for me. The thing is with the fan blowing at the front it sort of pushes some towards the back . It makes that side around the axle and lower down tend to gather dust etc: Its such a slight leak that it makes it tough to locate.

Check the valves in front of the right rear tire. You might have to remove the tire and rim on the right side to get your head and flashlight in there for a proper inspection. Put the rear of the tractor on some sturdy jack stands, and be careful.

Thanks folks. So I found the leak... Not the greatest news but I guess it could be worse. It is a pipe from the ( 4 way?) valve for the blower / FEL control--to the 4 ( I hear them called Pioneer connectors? )

The pipe is leaking at the weld where it goes into the body of the "overgrown banjo fitting" on top of the valve. Wondering how to proceed.... Could this part be brazed, mig welded, or somehow repaired?

Could this pipe be replaced by hose with the proper fittings?

So I could have found it without taking off the FEL and front covers, but a clear view revealed some missing nuts on linkages to the "Front Loader Valve" as the manual calls it. The pipe is called "Pipe (B1) for Boom Cylinder. It looks like it is trapped in by the other pipes...

Glad you found the leak. Guess I miss read your first post , as mine leaks at the back and runs down the trans and drips onto the floor.

So I found the leaky pipe, I had to remove 4 other pipes from the valve to get at it. The crack is visible in the photo. I had a welder / hydraulics expert friend ( good to have friends like that ) silver solder the old pipe. He clamped it so the pipe would not twist in the fitting. The rough finish is a liberal coating of paint required as the plating was (burned) off. All back together and not leaking!

Very nice. Adapt. Improvise. Overcome. * (y)

Looks to me like it might have been poorly done to start with, but it's hard to be sure from a photo.
