We just bought a used l4060D and are in need of a loader. Seems this is a hard one to find. Can another model be used instead of the la854? We need the whole unit as it currently has nothing.

If you can't find or order one from a dealer, You need to look at aftermarket loaders, Koyker, Westendorf, Woods, and others.

Have you talked to Messicks? They often know the interchangeable parts, you may find that a current L series load will fit, or can be made to fit.

Failing that, take a look at loaders for other L-series models.

Often times it's easier to just sell your tractor without loader, and buy a different tractor with a loader. Loaders on their own are hard to find.

Welcome aboard!

This is something that frequently comes up on tractor boards. It's a shame more prospective buyers don't spend more time perusing places like this before buying. Most implements that connect to the tractor via the 3-point hitch or SSQA on the loader are pretty easily obtained and universal. One exception is like the proprietary QA on the Deere tractors.

As mentioned, aftermarket loaders are available if you can't find a factory unit. In most cases the loader is something that should be bought as part of the tractor. It should be the most cost-effective and least troublesome.
