Got my new L2501 and noticed it came with a 72'' bucket. The 66'' bucket is what has been used with the La525 for years. It is a nice heavy bucket but weighs about 134lbs more. Just wondering if anyone else got the 72'' bucket with a new L2501

The loader was shipped from kubota with this bucket, saw somewhere that the new L3302 and L3902 where getting a LA526 loader and they would have a bigger bucket, so maybe thats what all of them will have?

Mine was matched to the 66" in Apr this year. Dealer discussed upfront and itemized it on the contract (it was an option FWIW). I questioned everything and they were very good. Also, Group here on OTT had great advice on a lot of stuff.

So... here's the trade-off: You have a certain amount of lift (x - don't remember exactly) at the pins and less moving it out. The question is what are you mainly planning on using it for? Your bucket is heavier and can fit more. Max Lift Lbs is determined by the hydraulic pump as I understand it (Same on L 25/33/39)

Lighter bulk material like clean-out of the barn, mulch, etc would be perfect. If you are moving soil/gravel/rock/even sand you skew the ratio and also have to think about ballast in the rear - YRMV.
I have woods and find the 66" well-matched size & maneuverability wise. But I am mainly moving dirt/rock in combo with my BH.

IF you are OK with the size, the solution may be just don't as big of a bite if you have dense heavy material and encounter issues? You just got it so double check your contract, think about and call them for options. IMO I wouldn't give up yours until the replacement is in-hand if you do decide to change

The bucket will be used mainly used for moving snow, so I am sure it will work fine, was just wondering if any one else got the bigger bucket and if will be the "new" standard bucket on the smaller L series.

Wish I had a 60" bucket on mine. The 66" is just too wide for me. That extra 3" on each side has clipped trees, jambs and flower pots.

Have seriously considered trimming it down.

I'm guessing you get a LOT up your way ;) but you've been sharing with us in recent years down here in PA!

I am curious to see how mine does this winter. I have a 7' plow on my TJ and we occasionally get the whopper storm the makes us feel like we are up with you or in the Sierra Nevadas. Ex) The one in 2016 dropped just under 4' locally in one sitting and kicked my tail. I plan on using the Kubota to supplement and maybe move piles if it comes to that again - but not as my main go-to.

Are you planning on pushing with just the bucket?

Yes, keeping eye out. Have found a few 60", but they all were pin-on type (would need to add the SSQA plate) and were lighter duty. I will say the 66" that comes with the 01 series is beefy.
