LA 844 FEL Hyd Connection

Hoping someone can help with an ongoing problem I'm having with my MX5100/LA844 FEL. It seems that every time I remove my FEL, I have to loosen the QD to relieve the pressure before I can reconnect it. Doesn't seem like this should be required every time I try to reconnect the hydraulics.

I have ensured that I relieved the pressure by rotating the lever in all directions for at least 60 secs each, but that didn't help. The FEL is left in the barn when disconnected, so it's not sitting in direct sunlight (heat build-up).

Any suggestions?

I feel your pain. I just bought a MX5100 with FEL. I disconnected the FEL for a couple of days and when I went to hook up back up, it took 2 people to apply enough force to connect two of the hoses. Now I dont want to disconnect it for all the trouble it will be to hook it back up. I called the dealer and he thats just the way it is. Any ideas?

Yep, loosen the female quick disconnect at the line (on the FEL) to relieve the pressure. Solves the problem every time, but what a PITA! Be careful, as I got sprayed the last time I did it because it had so much pressure built up. It will also make a mess if you don't have a bucket to catch the oil. If yours is like mine, it is the bucket tilt cylinders that are building up the pressure and won't reconnect. You won't have this issue in the winter unless you leave the FEL in sun on a cold day.

I have removed my loader many times and every time before I disconnect anything I kill the engine and cycle the loader control in all directions to releave the pressure. Then disconnect and back away from the loader. When it's time to put it back on just kill the engine and hook everything back up. Maybe I've just been lucky but it's been that simple every time.
