L48 propell shaft remove

Hi guys i had to split my l48 because my engin need ti be rebuilt , id like to know if i can take off the propell shaft frpm the transmission ( the shaft for the 4wd ) in place without removing the trans off the frame.

And how to do it ?

You can remove the exposed section (yellow) just by removing the single bolt on the shield, sliding the shield back and the driving the roll pin in a coupler out and slide the coupler to remove the shaft.

You can not or should not remove the rear section (circled in blue) as doing so could allow the rear coupler (circled in red)to fall off the shaft and then reassembling could be very troublesome, worse case scenario would be having to do a full split. ;)
