Yesterday I turned the key on, the glow plug light comes on and stays on unusualy longer. Thinking something is wrong I turn the key off, turn the key back on light comes back on want a few seconds turn to start. Starts right up. While using it the light on the dash came on for a few seconds, the machinework normal. Does it sound like glow plug relay?

I don't have access to an L48 schematic but, if the light is coming on, the culprit is more likely the glow timer, assuming it's similar to the L35. Don't continue to use it with the glow plugs on or they'll burn out and you'll have another problem to fix. In warm weather you can probably disconnect them and it'll start ok until you fix the issue.

If you have the WSM and can attach the electrical schematic it would help.

Yes, the lamp is driven by the glow controller, not the relay. When mine started acting this way, I replaced the controller and that fixed it.

I couldn't go $100+ for the OEM number so I bought one off eBay for <$30. The package said made in China, but they had copied it so well Made in Japan was molded into the case.
