I searched the forums and couldn't find anything regarding this so apologies if this has been answered already.

New L47 owner and going through checking fluid levels. How do you all position the tractor to check transmission fluid level? The owners manual shows the tractor in transport position, the workshop manual shows the same. The dealer that I purchased from stated to drop backhoe to the ground and lower stabilizers like I was going to remove the backhoe. I'm curious how others are doing this. Thanks.

When I check my L35, it's on a level floor with the FEL bucket on the floor and the backhoe stowed for transport.

It doesn't make much difference; all the cylinders are double-acting so the fluid volume doesn't change much with position.

Almost all cylinders are double acting.
The three point hitch is the only exception, but even with it full it doesn't change the volume enough to matter.
Just check it on flat ground.
