Good day all, I need some help again please.

My Tractor engine was sent to a engineering shop to get the Head done, new pistons, rings and bearings fitted. With the tractor now running, there is a distinct blowing sound via the exhaust. A friend of mine suspect a stuck valve. This is possible, as the engineer did say one glow plug tip broke off in replacing with new ones. What he did not state, and cannot confirm is if the tip was removed or not.

I thus plan to take the head off again and check it myself. With that my first question. The WSM says that I should remove the Injectors. Is that totally necessary? I know if I need work done on it yes, but just to check. I would not like to replace the seals and heat shields again, they were just done.

Second question, I'm now concerned with the rest of the work the engineering shop did, if they can mess up small things, what about the bigger ones. Question, is there a way I can check the timing on the engine without removing the timing gear cover and starting from scratch.

Took me 2 years to put the whole tractor together, would not like to dismantle the whole thing again.

Don't shoot me, I did not stick to the original color scheme 100% . ;)

P.S. If there is someone out there that can help me with a working instrument panel. (In South Africa they are quoting me as much as I paid for the tractor for one) Did buy the tractor as spares originally though.:devilish:

My first thought ............. If that TIP is in the engine or there is evidence of damage to THAT piston/valve/ cylinder wall that would have been caused by that broken part - I would be heading back to the "engineer shop" and have him ready to fix E V E R T H I N G !!!

As for timing - you could "see" the valves move at TDC but I would think the best way would be to see if the "notch" or timing marks on the cam and crank would be the best way.
