Brand new to Kubotas as I am working on my girlfriends employer's L4310 and usually design and fab street rods but....their description of the issue was "gear box not functional", and so I just now went over where it's stored, fired it up (using the manual since I am so new to this) and drove it a few feet, (this is a manual transmission type), shifted to 2nd, no change: 3rd, no change; 4th, no change. Clutch adjustment seems OK - am I missing something? The shift rod is moving in and out of the main shaft base when you move the shift lever but there doesn't appear to be any gear changes. BTW, the actual shift lever doesn't feel like its doing anything, just moving around in it's pattern - it does rotate and move the main shift rod in and out, though.

First off the tractor has stright cut gears on it, you DO NOT push the clutch in an shift threw gears as you would in a car. So my thoughts are the gears could be stripped. Also could be an issue that the clutch needs to be replaced.

Yes, the tractor moves at the same speed no matter what gear it is in. Eric, thank you for clarifying the shift issue. As I rolled down the road, the speed of the tractor never changed as I moved the gear lever through the gear positions (1,2,3,4) . I was looking at the parts breakdown for the main gear shift fork assembly and wondering if the main shift arm could come loose (or break) - just a thought.

Is the hi/lo shifter moving like it should. I know on my tractor the first few gears in low range feel alot alike to me. Once I shift into hi and really start to boogy then I can feel the speed.

Sounds like the shift fork/leaver is not changing gears internally. Goin to have to get in there and look.
