I have a 2020(maybe 2021) L4060 HST+ cab model, 4wd w/loader and only 13 hrs on it available for purchase at my local dealer. Was a return from buyer and still qualifies as new and for 0% financing. I’ve never had a Kubota, only NH/Ford tractors (5030, TN65, TN60, 4000SU). I need a machine to rake and tedder hay, move 4x5 rolls, light loader work and pull a 6’ bush hog on hilly to steep terrain. I have a 5’ tiller I run regularly as well. 1.- Will this machine run this equipment? 2.- Can the wheel width be adjusted front and back? 3.-Is $37,500 a decent price? Thanks for any input.

Great price, the rear wheels only can be flipped per the manual.

Thanks for the reply. Any experience with R4 tires? I’ve none! How’s traction on hilly areas while bushes hogging? Feeding hay in winter…wet with some mud? Thanks again.

Pros, you wont overload them. Cons, will cake with mud, and do not clean out well. Not directly saying they have more chance to spin in mud. I’m saying compared to r1 they do not eject dirt as easy once they get loaded up. I had r4 on my last machine. My new one has r1. They will tear a lawn up. I decided I use it more for brush hogging and hay. Either is a good choice just decide what you will be doing more of. As far as hills the width will make the most difference, along with ballast(weights-fluid).

Thanks for your help. I purchased the machine and will take delivery this week. Hope this machine works out and lasts a long time!

Tell the dealer to set the rear tires to the widest setting and make sure tires are loaded. When you get it home, set tire pressure to 15 psi. It is a huge improvement in ride quality and traction vs. what the dealer aired the tires at.

Thanks for the advice. I’d actually had them widen as far as it’ll go and they load the tires for free. I also asked them to air the tires down as they seemed too inflated and the demo ride was a bit rough. We’re in the same page I believe! Thanks again.

When my tires were loaded at the dealer they filled the tire 100% and did not leave a 20% space for air to cushion the ride. Something to check.

Sure thing, will do. Supposed to get delivered tomorrow, so I’ll have quite a few things to look at. I’ve never had a new tractor or one this small, so I’m excited about both. This will help with work around the barns better than my 5425 Deere and 5030 NH. I think this one may become my go-to just for the size of it. I’ll let y’all know. Thanks again.
