My L35 shop manual covers the actual adjustment but not accessing the top of the engine or aligning the timing marks on the flywheel. Would appreciate any input from L35 owners or mechanics that are familiar with the L35. My tractor was built around 1999 and I've owned it since 2003.

Just start taking stuff off until you can get to the valve cover.
Don't worry with finding TDC, it's not that critical. You can use the EOIC method. If you search this site, you'll find out what EOIC means, I explained it before and don't feel like typing it all out again.
