Howdy,

My brand new L3301 a week ago popped one of my four hydraulic hoses that connected to my bucket control hub. Ive done some research and know that I need to crack the nut to the actuator that is pressurized. However, due to the location of the actuator (on the bucket control hub), I cannot seem to find the location of the correct nut to crack. Any help on getting this fixed, I’ve got some snow to plow today 😀

Thank you!

Interested to see answers from those with more expertise. The hose that failed would already be depressurized due to its failure. Kind of hard to imagine why you would need to depressurize some other part of the system to replace that one hose.

When I had a loader hose fail on mine (at about 30 hours) I just took it off, took it to a local shop that makes hoses, they made up a matching hose in about 15 minutes, I put the new hose on the machine, topped off the hydraulic tank to replace the lost fluid, and was done. Yes, there was some air in the system due to the new hose not being filled but the quick dump/loader float functions purge the air so not a big deal there. 230 hours later no issues. Maybe I did it wrong?

Edit: My apologies. Upon further review of the thread, I completely misinterpreted the question.

Whoa up! Lets clear up some of the terminology before you doe something you will regret. Your machine should not be popping any hoses. And you should not be cracking any nuts until you have a better understanding of the mechanism. and how it operates.

This "hub" you are describing sounds like its the loader control valve. What hose did you "pop" and exactly what does that mean? Did the hose come loose from its connection to the valve/cylinder or did it burst?

If you bought a new car, and the heater hose "popped", would you fix it yourself or take it back to the dealership under the factory warranty for repair? The same goes for the tractor, take it back to the selling dealer or call them and have a properly trained technician (used to be called a mechanic) come out to repair the tractor. Part of the selling price includes services that are needed to repair it when it is new.

Does it include reconnecting a poorly seated quick coupler? My Spidey sense tells me that is what has happened but my mind reading skills have never been good.

My crystal ball is out for its 3-year maintenance service and won't be back for another few days. In the meantime, I, like you have no idea of what he meant when he used the word "popped". Possibly we can get Henro to create a list of standard and proper terms to use when describing a tractor problem or issue.

The quick coupler disconnected from the bucket control box. It won’t reconnect, because the actuator is stiff.

With the engine off, move the joystick in all directions. If you have a 3rd function valve, then turn the key on, and push the buttons on the joystick control a couple of times to release any pressure in those lines while moving the joystick right and left, forward and back. Then try to reconnect the quick disconnect. If you have flat-faced connectors, there is a pin on the side of the coupler that needs to be aligned with the coupler collar on some brands. If the pin and the slot are not aligned, you can't pull the coupler collar down to connect. My Summit brand flat-faced couplers are like that.
