I need to replace the casting on the right rear that the three point attaches to. I just received the new (used) part and am anxious to get the tractor running again. Does the axle come off with the outer housing or is there going to be some trick to get it separated. I know I should buy a manual but haven't yet. Just wondering what surprises I am likely to find when I start wrenching on this.
Thanks. Frank

Well, I got no replies which probably means I broke some unwritten forum rules. But, on the off chance that some people want to know the answer to my question, the axle comes off with the outer axle tube. Removed the wheel, removed the fender (all very obvious steps, no hidden fasteners or anything) removed half of the ROPS. So far I have been able to leave the strut connected to my loader hardware (not a Kubota loader). I removed the axle tube and axle, followed by the upper body mount and then called it a night (already worked 10 hours today before I touched the tractor). If I can, I will attach a couple of pictures for those with a little morbid curiosity.

The second picture shows the part that I still need to remove to fix the problem. Hopefully it will be as straightforward as the rest of this has been. So far I don't even need a gasket or an O-ring. Really well engineered from my point of view.

Thanks for the info and pics. Always interested in seeing problems even if it isn't mine in the event I ever need the information.

Only had about 30 minutes to work on it tonight. Good news, the whole casting came off easily. Bad news, lots of brake parts and ball bearings that are affected by gravity. I have no real idea how I am going to get the parts where they belong while I slide in the new casting without things moving. When the new casting was being pulled free, the parts and bearings were dropping. Had to leave it for tonight. Pictures to folow for anyone who might want to know what lurks inside these things.
