I currently have R4 tires on my L3800 tractor. When I bought my tractor I wasn't sure which tire I wanted and thought maybe R1 was the way to go. Long story short the dealer persuaded me to try the R4s. They have worked great except in the wet months seem to get caked on with mud and tend to spin. Do the R1 tend to shed off the clay/mud and keep getting traction?

On CL a gentleman has a set of R1s from a L3240 on rims and tires, rears filled. The sizes are Front:7.2-16. Rear:12.4-24 (4WD). Would those rim/tire combo fit on my L3800. I figure if I don't like them I could go back to R4 and sell them with a bit of a loss. He is asking $800 for the set of 4 with 60 hours use. They also appear to be firestones.

no they are the wrong size.
You need 7.2-16 for the front and 11.2-24 for the rear.
The difference in the RC (rolling circumference) will cause damage to the 4wd system.

Hi,
I have a set of R1s on my L3800 with about 15 hours on them.
They are a little too aggressive, fronts are a little too narrow, and they rutt my feed lot up quite a bit... traction has been outstanding though.
Would love to trade straight across for your R4s.
I'm in Little Rock, but could meet you in Knoxville, TN if you felt like doing a trade.
Feel free to pm me for my contact info if you're interested.

Thanks,
Long Gone
