I've got a recently acquired L3240D w/FST transmission. I hooked up my bush hog and engaged the PTO lever and the PTO shaft spun up the bush hog just fine, but the dash indicated PTO OFF when I tried to check my PTO speed. After a little while of running the bush hog, the red/orange PTO running icon popped up on the dash and the PTO speed was indicated. This happens pretty much every time I engage the PTO. I suspect a switch isn't consistently making up and may need adjustment. I've got the owners manual, but not a service manual (yet). Any ideas where to look?

On another note, I tried to search the forum for PTO engaged indicator, but the search doesn't like the term PTO. The term PTO is pretty important on a tractor forum. Is there a way around this search limitation? I tried PTO* and PTO%, but it didn't like either of those options.

Just to follow up on this post; I pulled off the panel over the PTO lever and removed the micro switch actuated by the PTO lever. The plunger area of the switch was packed full of dirt and dust. I cleaned it up and verified proper electrical continuity with the switch closed. I put it all back together and it has worked as it should ever since.
