Since its been so cold and I can't do much outside, I washed and cleaned up my tractor, 14years old, 850 hours, always kept inside. It looks pretty good and have never had a serious problem. I plan to wax it but looking at the dark gray dash over the instruments and the cover over the joy stick valves. These plastic items have a faded coating on them that I can't seem to remove.
I haven't tried the wax yet, but have tried solvent and scouring powder with water to take that faded layer off with no luck. Anyone got an idea how to clean these items to a new shine.

I use an RV product called ProtectAll. Walmart stocks it. Applied over paint, glass, plastic, rubber and lightly take off. It’s also a UV protectant and I have been using it for years on my tractors, cars, and trucks.
You will not be disappointed in its overall performance, and it is great on plastic parts!

In the motorcycle restoration / detail world people love an aerospace protectant made by 303. Really good stuff that I have had amazing results with on all sorts of things. Works great and has the UV protection as well but with a matte finish I prefer over the greasy / slick armour-all type stuff.

If the surface it rough / pitted, you may also try to polish it out with a mild abrasive / toothpaste, etc. Similar to how people can restore an old scratched up / cloudy plastic headlight lens to brand new looking.
