I have an L3010 GST with 880 hrs and it is not engaging my rear PTO to operate my Bush Hog SQ720R-2. What can I do?

Fix it! :p

Giving more information, like as to what is happening or not happening and what sounds you hear when it's happening or not happening really helps in troubleshooting.
Are there are several things that could be going on with it.

Go here and download the 2 part WSM for your tractor it will give you troubleshooting and adjustment procedures for the PTO engagement cable.

More info....

When I try to engage the PTO the switch does not settle into place, it's shaking with vibration, and the PTO turns buts does not fully engage and come up to speed. I'm not sure if the gears are grinding because I'm hard of hearing but it sounds like it always did since I owned it new 18 yrs ago. Does this help for providing a suggestion?

Cable adjustment first per the WSM, then if that does not fix it then you'll need to split it and put in a new one way clutch, which is also the part you engage to make the PTO spin. ;)
