Where do I start to troubleshoot and repair/replace?

The tractor runs well, but the electrical is kind of a mess. The lights are long gone, and when somebody repainted the tractor, they just spray painted over the fuses.

The ignition and glow plugs work. I’m most concerned about having a temperature gauge because I don’t want the tractor to overheat and cause damage.

See the wiring diagram in post #27 of this thread

The wiring is straightforward for the most part. You may even be able to buy the wiring harness from the dealer. The fuse block should be available also.

Test the sensor would be a good start for temperature, easy to do, or just replace it with a new one from the dealer.

The Tachometer drives the hour meter and is mechanically driven. Is the tachometer working? If not then look at the drive cable to see if it is spinning in the inner drive cable. If the tachometer is working and the hour meter is not then you would need to have the tachometer rebuilt somewhere or just swap out for a used or an electrical tachometer (see tiny tach for diesels)
