Same problem that led to the rebuild last year of the complete motor...crank case filling with hyd/tranny oil.

Question is.....besides the obvious - overpressurizing the pump - any ideas about why the seal would fail? Owner doesn't think the hydraulics were stressed, but not certain.

I'm thinking of installing an in-line output pressure gauge on the pump to keep an eye on the pressure - anyone ever done this....and/or know what the output pressure should be?

Replace the pump. the internal leakage from wear is allowing to much oil to get to the seal area, overcoming the seal.

Not cheap, No. But I'll bet a new pump will liven the hydraulics up quite a bit on that tractor!

Owner wants a new pump.....looking like around $600 including replacement fluids/filter.
