There's a small 'rubber' hose attached on my fuel tank that is only about 1/4" dia and maybe 5" long. I'm guessing it is supposed to be a very simple fuel gauge. 'cept mine is not clear. I don't see this part in any of my go-to part sites or parts manuals. Might not trust simple vinyl clear hose from Home Depot from what I've read about diesel and vinyl. I see other L295DT fuel tanks have a fuel cap with a gauge and float attached, but I'm happy with this simple clear hose if I can replace it or make it clear again. Thanks. Look forward to commiserating on this one.

Does it connect to both the top and bottom of the tank?
If not, then it sounds more like a return hose that should be connected to the injectors.

My L185 has a fuel gauge on the side like that. It really only measures the last half tank. I have gotten new hose from the dealer and it stays clear about two years then becomes very close to the same color as diesel. Red diesel will probably show up better. I'll look for the part number and get back to you.

thanks, guys... with your help I found what I was looking for. The parts descriptions for an L295DT didn't show that type of fuel 'gauge', but going to the L285 descriptions I tracked it down to Messicks part number 07935-05741 and clips #10013-41770. Thanks again.
