I have an L2900 GST 4WD with 600 hours on it. At first, it intermittantly wouldn't move in 4th or 8th. Now it won't move at all. Feels like it's in neutral regardless of shuttle lever or shift lever position. Clutch feels normal and rear pto acts as expected with clutch operation. Hydraulic fluid is clean and at proper level. Dealer thinks it could be the main clutch, but I'm skeptical. Any ideas?

Check your clutch adjustment, you might get lucky. That is not many hours for the tractor to need a clutch.

Tell your dealer to look at the sectional view of the GST on page 3-M2 in the WSM. It clearly shows that the PTO is driven by the main clutch.
With a GST, the first check is to see if the PTO spins when the tractor is in gear but not moving. If the PTO
spins, the main clutch is not slipping.

I agree. Also the fact that the problem started intermittently, and that some gears would work while others wouldn't, tells me that it's unlikly a main clutch problem. I see page 3-S2 of the WSM has a troubleshooting chart for the GST system. I can follow that chart until it calls for the use the "D" adapter and gauge. I know these items are expensive. I'm hoping to get clues from someone's similar experience. The tractor is at the dealer now. I don't want them to sell me a clutch in the process of trying to figure out the real problem!

Time to do pressure tests.

I asked about steering because the section of the pump that run the power steering also runs the GST controls.

The front loader and the three point are controlled buy a separate section of the pump.

The brakes, well they are purely mechanical, they don't use hydraulic pressure or flow at all.

Like whitetiger says, time to do pressure tests, and if your dealer hasn't figured that out yet, time to find another dealer!

I took the tractor to an independent shop. Turns out it needed a GST clutch assembly. Many many thousands of dollars later, I got my tractor back working as it should. I've been told that it's a known Kubota problem that they have since updated the part. A lot of $ spent to repair a tractor with only 600 hours on it, but at least I now have a tractor. Thanks for all suggestions!
