L2850DT Transmission not engaging

After working the L2850DT for a couple hours the transmission would not engage and I heard a humming noise a little bit like a 2 stroke dirt bike. It happened last time I used it a few months ago and suddenly started working after it sat a while so I changed fluid and filters then.
Any thoughts?

Is it possible you bumped the lever to an intermediate position between high and low range?

Is it possible you bumped the lever to an intermediate position between high and low range?

Yes! I checked it and that was exactly what it was. The shifter lever for high to low was in between positions.
