Well I took the tractor out for a while and thought I would try out the pto. When I pushed in the clutch and engaged the pto it started spinning right away. Inwas wondering if this is normal or if I need to adjust the clutch? All of the other tractors I have run the pto dis engages with the clutch(Oliver 88/1650/1755/2050, kubota m120, Massey ferguson, Alice chalmers)
Any thoughts?

Yes pushing in the clutch should disengage the PTO, my guess would be that if pushing in the clutch stops the tractor you have a 2 stage clutch and your not disengaging the second stage.
It could be out of adjustment in the pedal linkage, or it could be out of adjustment on the pressure plate, or it could be that if hasn't been used in quite a while it could be rusted and sized and will need to get broken loose.

Thanks for the info. It looks like my front seal is going out on the trans. I've got hyd fluid leaking out the whiffle valve. Looks like I will have to split the tractor. Good time to change clutch parts.
