I seem to the have the typical 1/3 turn steering wheel free play. I tried adjusting the steering gear, no help. The common stated fault is the hydraulic pump. I don't like to tear things apart until I know the problem. I figured the best way to assess the pump is to check the output.
Since my post, I have found the banjo bolt identified for fabrication is the same banjo bolt used on the pump. My plan is to use the existing pump bolt then, either leave the gauge installed or remove it and install a plug for future testing.
Also, is it normal to have about 1/3 wheel free play with the engine OFF?
General tractor question. I have a basic L2850 2WD. The model number stamped on the transmission is L2850. Below the sight window there is a decal "F-7". Okay, it's a L2850F. What does the "7" mean.
Thanks,
KMo
