L285 Steering Shaft and Nut on L260?

Any chance anyone knows if the steering shaft assembly for an L285( 34260-16200) will work in a L260 steering box? I see that they both use 1/4" balls and use the same upper & lower bearings. I'm hoping that maybe it'll work?!

Don’t know the answer but you can look at parts for both tractors here and see if the list both tractor models under one part

Or at Kubota USA illustrated parts list there is some way to see what model tractor is used on that part number. It is somewhat obscure on there searching methods but poke around and see if you can figure it out. I don’t recall exactly how but can look if you can’t figure that out and ask for help here

I measured the shaft and it's 1.5 or 2" longer than the L285 one so it probably won't work unfortunately.
Tonight I designed a crossover tube that I can CNC machine. I'm probably going to try that this weekend. I'll have to order some 1/4" balls, but that shouldn't be a problem.
