I have a L2650 with Ever Clutch and shuttle shift. While 1K mi. from home my son borrows my tractor and tiller to till up his garden. He said with the tiller engaged and the tractor pulling Fwd. the F/N/R hand leaver wants to jump out of Fwd. to N. If he holds the leaver in fwd. the tractor pulls fine. My tiller tine shaft is slightly bent so there is quite a bit of vibration when in operation. Even with a good tiller there is always quite a bit of vibration. Any ideas or comments other than hiding the tractor key when I leave the house. My guess is a synchronizer, worn gears and lots of $$$$ are involved in the solution.

I would start with the simple things like fixing the shaft to cut down on the vibration, then I would look to the shuttle linkage and detents to see if you can do anything external to it before you have to split it and find out what's not right.
