I currently have a l2550 that has been split apart for some time. I bought a "pre adjusted" clutch assembly off line I've split and reassembled the bell housing 3 times and would like to not have to do it again. When attaching the pressure plate assembly do I need to completely tighten that down to the fly wheel? I was told torque to 20 ft lbs when I did that and slid it back together the pedal felt right but i looked through the adjustment window and noticed with the pedal engaged I was getting about a 3/8th gap between the pp assembly and head of the bolt. That cant be right. I split it again tightened it all the way and evenly torqued it there. (I noticed tighting it all the way sucked the 3 adjustment bolts and fingers in quite a bit.)Put it together and now it feels as though I'm missing the second part of the clutch(consistent pressure on the clutch all the way to the floor) feels as though it's short. I was told to adjust the linkage but I don't think that will give me enough adjustment. I'm starting to become discouraged and starting to consider junking it. What am I doing wrong? Any advice would be much appreciated.
