They are relatively cheap, comfortable long term, and I wear the band positioned under my chin because I like to wear a cap. Just thought Id suggest them, if you are so inclined. And yes that whine noise is loud

I am a vivid shotgun/clay shooter and have a bunch of hearing protection devices. I do have that kind also, it is sold at a local store here and I do like them.
