Hi, I take posession of the tractor tomorrow. Anyone have a checklists of things to check / verify before accepting the tractor? I just want to cover all my bases. :)

I always verify full operation before taking possession of something. Make sure the loader works as expected, as well as the backhoe. Check forward reverse, and all travel speeds. Wiggle around on the seat when moving to verify the safety switch isn't too touchy. And have the person dropping it off answer any questions you may have about it.

Check for any visible leaks. Check hose clamps on coolant lines to make sure they aren't loose. Double check fluid levels front too back. And verify that the charging system works ;)

You may think I'm crazy about making sure the charging system works, but I've had brand new pieces of equipment shipped in with either a bad fuse, or actually missing a wire in a section of the wiring harness

Ha! I will try to see what kind of look I get as I pull out my multimeter and see what voltage is on the battery terminal!

Go through the op manual routine service section with the tech...sometimes Kubota puts more than one model in the same book and you are looking for a zerk to grease that doesn't exist on your model :confused:, and the directions are a little vague. Actually a lot vague. There are little tricks to getting some of the shrouds and hood off so you can access the air filters and radiator screens etc. Easy once you know how, but not intuitively obvious. Have him check tire pressures and lug nut tightness, especially if tires are filled and you don't have handy the correct kind of pressure gauge and torque wrench for lug nuts. Have him review how to bleed a fuel line on your model.

It will be hard to take it all in! The excitement of the new tractor interferes with memory storage, I had to go back and ask my dealer questions I knew he answered once already :(

Have fun!
