Well, like a dummy I just drove about 100 feet with the parking brake on before realizing it. Anything I need to check?

First thing to check, did anyone see you ;) ? Did you have it set really hard? If you went 100 feet I don't think you did.

I don't think that it is going to cause any problems. I have forgotten before, gone a little ways and then figured out why the tractor sounds like it is working a little harder then normal.

Yep, been there, done that - several times. No issues seen, yet.

I've done that a couple times too.
I'm half way to having a bright flashing light if it's left on but in the meantime I put the key on the release lever whenever I have to use the brake.
When I can't find the key I remember.

I have thought about wiring a beeper to the Parking brake light and the neutral safety switch so when you put it in forward or reverse the beeper would sound. I think on a DT it would be pretty easy.

muddhogg, does the L2501DT not have a parking brake light? I always thought it used the same dash as the L4701, L3901 and the L3301.

It doesn’t have a light, I checked that as soon as I made my mistake.

I just check the part numbers and they are different.

I wonder if you can mount the parking brake switch bracket and switch from a L3901DT to the L2501DT.

So I wouldn't feel bad about missing the fact that the brake was on, I do it and have the lamp on the panel that tells you it is on.
