25 months ago intermittently (real word?) the starter solenoid would click once but the engine would not turn over. Turning the key off/on several times and the click would be followed by the engine starting. This problem got progressively worse until it was 15 to 20 times before the click and then a start. I cleaned all start circuit contacts and applied dielectric grease to these points, but the clicks continued. I removed the starter and dissembled the solenoid. The contacts were extremely pitted so I ordered and installed a Larry B's solenoid contact kit and it solved the problem. 25 months and approximately 275 hours of tractor time and the problem is slowly reappearing. I have not checked the solenoid contacts, but suspect that they are pitted. Add a 30 amp resistor or what? Anyone else seen this problem?
Thanks in advance, Bill

Add a starter relay. You can find them on amazon. As these machines get older we find more resistance in each electrical connection and the starter trigger wire does not get true battery voltage. The starter relay will overcome that. Simple to install and most likely will take care of the problem for a long time.

Thanks for the quick response and just wire the start relay in parallel with starter solenoid contacts? Bill
