I have a 99' L2500 that will not start with the key. I have been using a short piece of wire to start it at the starter, but I would like to fix the issue. I would guess that the issue is with the switch itself or the neutral switch under the seat. Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting and determining where the issue lies? Thanks for any and all help.

Start at the switch and work your way threw the wiring to get back to the starter. Most tractors have several safety switches, Seat, shifter, clutch, HST pedals, and PTO are some of them. You can use a multi meter or a simple test light to look for voltage. Another thing that would help now and in the future would be to get the service manual on the tractor, it will give you the wiring schematic and a ton of other useful information.
