The injection pump is gravity fed from the fuel tank. Fuel tank was empty checked the oil and diesel fuel shot out of the dipstick holder. I took the pump out and when I reconnected the fuel line ihe fuel was dripping out of the bottom of the injector . I bought this tractor new and have never had a problem with it. I can't tell if one of the gaskets on the pump has gone bad or something else. It drains what fuel that is in the tank overnightRebuild and or replace injection pump.
How do you know the injection pump is where it's coming from?
Could be the lift pump that's causing it.
And how do you know you have fuel in the oil, is the fuel tank and the engine both showing a direct change in level?
There has been more than one occasion where someone thinks it's fuel (because it smells like it) where its not fuel that's rising the level, but it's hydraulic fluid.
Not the injector but the injector pumpThe injection pump is gravity fed from the fuel tank. Fuel tank was empty checked the oil and diesel fuel shot out of the dipstick holder. Put one on years ago before fuel filter . Do you think it will stop dripping while running it? Don't want to ruin my engine.Any chance you can easily add a shutoff valve between the tank and engine ?
You problem(gravity) is common with gas powered riding mowers. EVERY one that I service gets a shutoff valve.
Yes, a bit of a pain to 'open it to run, close when done', but better than draining oil, new filters, more fuel, etc. !
Thank you! Yeah that was the conclusion I came up with or rebuild it myself. It's just so dang expensive. I put a shutoff valve on it years ago after changing the fuel filter and fighting the fuel getting everywhere. Kubota engineering! I've had this traction since 1999 and this is my first major repair. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance!Thank you for the answers.
A fuel shut off is not the right answer, because the injection pump is a reservoir and it will drain each time your not using it.
You need to pull the injection pump, remove and save the shims under the pump and send it to these guys to have it rebuilt.
Oregon Fuel Injection.
I would love to tell you it's an easy fix, just replace a gasket, sealing washer or O-ring.Thank you! Yeah that was the conclusion I came up with or rebuild it myself. It's just so dang expensive.
