I started a thread on rebuilding the motor on my L245dt. Now I find I need a part I cant find. The front drive shaft has a 2 piece cover over it. At some time in the past, the rear cover was damaged. Its now not perfectly straight and so the shaft rubs on the inside of the rear cover right where it slides into the front cover. It has caused some minor damage to the shaft. I checked it with a straight edge and its about 3 deg. off from straight. I might be able to straighten it but I'm afraid I might do more harm than good! Where can I get a replacement rear shaft cover? There are no tractor graveyards around me that I know of.
Next, the exhaust manifold has an elbow on it and then the muffler goes on the elbow. At the bottom of the elbow is a very small hole, about 1/16th inch. I'm assuming this is there to allow moisture to escape rather than go into the engine. Am I correct? I seem to get a fair amount of exhaust out of that hole.
Thanks
