It's my under standing the weep holes are part of the crankcase ventilation and I can understand condensation weeping from the holes.
I had been loosing some antifreeze from the weep holes and put some magic stop leak stuff in the radiator. I also re-torqued the head and found one nut a little loose. Seemed to help. The other day I use the tractor to plow and then it started to leak again.
Is anyone familiar with the internal anatomy of the Z1300 engine? I'm hoping nothing more serious other than a leaking head gasket. But, I don't understand how antifreeze can get to the weep holes. If the weep holes were on the same side as the push rods it would make some sense if it was a head gasket leak.
It would seem the weep holes are nothing more than holes in the crankcase. So, why would the antifreeze be channeled to the weep holes instead of just going into the engine oil. I don't have any indication of coolant in the engine oil.
Can anyone suggest an aftermarket source for a head gasket? At Kubota's price, I would have to sell the tractor to buy the gasket.
Thanks,
K-Mo
