I'm sure parts are hard to find, but I've found a l225 for a what I think is a decent price, 2500 with a 4' bush hog. Low hours and a one owner with all service records and no issues at the moment. What do ya'll think?

Look at Kubota.com illustrated parts list and see if you can find part numbers for it. Then search Messicks or Coleman sites to see if the parts are available.
I think you will find out that many are still available.
That will also provide assurance that it is not a gray market tractor.
Some large cast parts like heads will be obsolete but there are aftermarket parts available probably. See Kumar parts or something similar
I have a L185and have gotten almost every part I wanted through the dealer. It is similar vintage
