I acquired this non running L200 about 6 months ago and after spending 1500 on parts, it is still sitting in corner of my barn about to become a yard ornament. It has 633 hours on it and I don't have the tools to go any farther. It cranks but won't pop, I sent the head in to a machine shop and after getting all the parts from Messicks which is the only place I could find valves, guides, seals and springs, I installed head with a new head gasket and still no luck. Glow plugs are working, I could not find any torque specs for the head, I have them tightened to 70 foot pounds, I do not have a diesel compression tester or a fuel pressure tester. I paid nothing for the tractor as the owner just wanted it gone. I am trying to avoid taking it to a dealer for help but may be my last resort unless I want to buy some more tools to eliminate the problems. If anyone has any simple suggestions it would be appreciated

Sounds like a fuel problem. Possibly bleed air out of the fuel system, and make sure the injectors aren't clogged.

Assuming the cylinders looked good when you removed the head, compression should be okay.

Thanks Jim, yes cylinders looked good, I cracked the lines below the injectors and had fuel, how can I check if injectors are clogged? thanks, also I do have some white smoke while cranking
