The 3 point hitch won't stay up on my L175, It leaks down with bush hog or any equipment on 3 point hitch, even with tractor running; I have changed the fluid and cleaned the filter but it did not help.

I have the parts and work shop manuals for the L175. Send me a pm with your email address and I'll send them to you. Sounds like it's something internal with the piston. Either o'ring or something like that.

You can spend a lot of effort changing seals or just live with it. Most 3 pts leak it is just a question of how fast. Furthermore, you never want to leave heavy implements in the air because they are a safety risk to anyone near them. Most 3 pts on older machines are not held in a position with the machine continually replenishing fluid to maintain a position.
If it is dropping fast then the o ring on the main piston may need to be replaced.
Daren's offer of a manual sounds most helpful.

Thanks for the help, the manuals will help. I did not have any manuals to look at. I will get on tractor in the next few days when it warms up some.

You have a bad O ring. Same thing I just went through with my L175. It had a chunk missing out of it. Cylinder was like brand new so nothing done there.
It will now hold position even with about 500lbs of counter weight and the engine shut off.
Very simple fix especially compared to what it took to make the same repair to my 640 Ford.
