I am an old fellow with a love for old machines . A couple weeks ago I acquired a 1996 Kubota M4700 . For me that is a really new tractor . Anyway , my M4700 is low-houred [ 244]but now I suspect it sat outside for its 20 years. I have a couple questions:

1.The Position Control & the Draft Control Levers are really difficult to move . [ On my 49 year-old IH 444 I can move these with a couple fingers. ] Is there a lube point for these ? Or are they ordinarily that stiff ?

2. The hand-throttle control will not come all-the-way-back to idle . I have to put my foot under the foot-throttle-control to achieve idle speed . My throttle-return-spring appears to be in good shape . Is this the way the two throttles are supposed to operate ?

Obliged for any help or guidance .

Follow both the hydraulic and throttle linkages and lube with something like PB blaster to help with the joints.
You might end up having to take the linkages off and clean them and manually lube them.

With it having that low of hours, and it it sitting outside in what I imagine would be very humid conditions, it's probably just rusty and needs some work to get things moving right. ;)

Well folks , I have had this trac for 3 years . Decided yday to tackle Item 2 , the sticking throttle .

The accelerator linkage is totally free . When disconnected from the reach rod to the Injection Pump , the spring works properly to reset accelerator peddle and it does the job well . The problem is at the throttle plate on the pump . It is very stiff and must be physically returned with my foot if I am on tractor [ by hand during this repair ]. I cleaned the throttle plate well and oiled it too . Worked better but no cigar .

I looked at parts schematic expecting to see internal return spring inside pump itself . Again no cigar — don’t see such a spring . Therefore. I conclude must be crud or corrosion inside throttle plate that is preventing free movement .

Any guidance would be much Appreciated .
