I own a MX5200 with about 400 hrs. (bought used I put about 50 hours on it) and the Kubota service company tells me that my control board is bad. Ran fine for the last year ( one day just would not start, I replaced battery and then it would turn over, but not fire) and I am told it will be about $2600.00 to replace. Does anyone have any ideas on any options. Where I can buy a used board, if that makes any sense or do they make an after market board. I am totally amazed, that after only 400 hours of service, that a control board could be bad. Maybe i have no options, but I thought I would reach out to some of you that may have some ideas. Appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Yikes! I wonder if there is a place that repairs them...maybe send your defective one in and they send you a remanufactured one for less money than new???

How old is the tractor? While warranty is 3(?) years, the emissions system is 5….

Not sure if the ECU/ECM is emissions, but seems it should be as it controls the emissions systems.

An MX5200 may be older, but throwing it out there as a thought ….

How old ?? Ever stored outside ??
I'd be carefully removing ,inspecting, cleaning, reattaching EVERY connector on the tractor. I'd also replace the battery cables 'just in case'.
Without seeing the wiring diagram, it's hard to understand HOW the 'control board' failed, and WHY do they say so . Generally speaking 'boards' don't just fail.

Is it totally 'dead', does anything work that is controlled by it ? Does anything work on the tractor ?Are ALL fuse clean and seated firmly ?
Really need to se the wiring diagram but if SOME functions it controls ARE good, odds are the board is fine.
Faulty connections would be my first quess.

Service shops seem to use the 'try this, try that' approach...where 'this' is the expensive POSSIBLE cure, and 'that' ends up being a cheap REAL cure... reseat the connector.
