I am new to this sight and can use a little help
Several of the rollers in the injector pump froze up and destroyed the cam am housing..
We purchased a used Housing and governor,. Appears the same but assuming was off of a different piece of equipment since we have to make major addustments in the governor to get it set up the same as the old one.
the replacement pump we received appears different but dimensionally it fits, so assuming it from/for a different application as well.
We put it all together and after a little ^*&*^$&^ IT RUNS but not very well. on start billows blue white smoke, not throttle response, or power. Once it warms up the smoke lessons and all symptoms become better..
I believe Our issue is the shimming of the Pump to the Housing.. we started with the same # of shims and have increased them until we got it to run.
at this point i am unsure if we received compatible components and looking for help

Sounds like your playing with fire... Do the model numbers even match? You are talking about the rack fuel springs I assume, not the Governer.

it appears the 2006 and guess earlier stuff is not very well supported.. i was told the pump and housing were for the V3307 . The original pump was a Denso Kubota #1G774 the new one I will have to look when I get Home..

There are 20 differnt M7040 sub models so, give a serial number to help narrow it down.
Why did you need to change the governor?

Glaring RED Flag! "Our issue is the shimming of the Pump to the Housing.. we started with the same # of shims and have increased them until we got it to run."

Timing is NOT set by shims on this model, I'm taking it you don't have the WSM (aka service manual) for it!

The WSM clearly states how you set the timing, and it's not done with shims.

Shims on that model injection pump setup only set the Injection pump to fuel cam clearance.

There also could be another issue, that specific sub model M7040HDC had 2 different injection pumps and governor set ups in it.
They might not be interchangeable between.

Sounds like you got the wrong version as a replacement.

Do you have the WSM?

If you would have gotten the whole, injection pump, housing and governor as a set, it should have been a simple drop in.

Used yes.
I'm sending you a PM for the WSM, look at how you set up the injection pump.

Does any one know where I can purchase a Complete injector pump, Housing and Governor for a Kubota M7040? The info stamped in the engine is 3.331L V3307-7A0088. Ebay has several the appear to be what I need but all are from China and have very few reviews and wording like the Pictures are not actual and are examples only.. etc
