I purchased my Kubota LX4020 HSD about 2 years ago. From the first day the suspension seat did not work. I returned the suspension unit to the dealer for repair. The dealer was unable to get the suspension seat unit to work. They ordered a new one under warranty. When it arrived I installed the new suspension unit and it worked great for a year. A few months ago I noticed it was not working again. Removed the suspension unit and tried to free it up with penetrating oil. After clamping it in a vice and repeatably extending and retracting the suspension unit it moved slightly. I returned it to the dealer and they could not get it to work either. So they ordered me another suspension unit under warranty. Has anyone else with a LX4020 had a similar problem with their suspension seat. The dealer thinks the tolerances of the moving parts of the suspension seat are to tight.

ALL Kubota mechanical suspension seats suck inherent by design.

I've had better luck replacing them with the Grammar air suspension seats. If there is an air suspension seat option for your machine it is likely a Grammar seat. For me the K air seat was cheaper than buying from Grammar.

Is your LX4020 a cab or open station and is it kept out in the weather? My LX4020,which I have had for over two years, is a cab and is kept in a barn and I have not had any trouble with the suspension seat. It could be the Kubota seat design is susceptible to corrosion of the mechanism.
