Doing the Hydraulic / Transmisson and Hydrostatic Filter change on 2024 L47 TLB.
The maint book says to change these filters at first 50 HR Service .
Looks like they all use the same fluid with a single fill UDT fill port behind the Seat.
My question is one filter is on the Left Lower Center facing horizontal and two others on the right lower center facing Vertical.
The service tech at the dealer told me to use a vacuum cleaner to reduce the fluid loss.
Does anyone know what he means?

Hold the vacuum on the fill port to create a vacuum as you remove and install the new filters. A separate person operating the vacuum makes it easier.

I used my shop vacuum when I changed mind on my 2650 Wife held the hose on the fill port while I changed the filter. And YES it does work. But not enough suction to pull the SUDT up in the vacuum

Yup.....you are then simply trying to pull a partial vacuum on the fluid tank.

Wish I would’ve known that when I did mine forgot to move the magnet to the new filter. Had to pull them off and lost 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid.

So If I stick my wife at the fill port with my Dewalt shop vac while I pull the three filters I should be good to go? Wow cool trick...

Yes, they will need to be removed , examined, cleaned and put back on,could take a minute or two.
Which filter? Looking at the parts diagram the hydraulic filter HHTA0-37710 includes the magnet. But can also be bought separately. (For $17 if you happen to break it.)

The HST filter HHTA0-59900 doesn’t show a magnet at all.

Guess I am blind in my dotage but don't remember any magnets on any filters. I have a L3301 HST and owned it since new and changed and serviced all filters and fluids at specified hours since new. Are these magnets in the filters or where if not?
