Howdy Folks,

I know a guy selling a 1981 Kubota B 6100 E. It has the scraper/grader attachment for the rear, but there's no loader bucket. It's a good running little tractor, and it's offered at a good price. But I don't want to buy a dinosaur. So my questions are as follows:

Where do folks get parts for these older machines?

Where might I find a loader attachment, and how much do they usually sell for?

Also, does anyone know if there's a power steering kit that is made for these? After market, etc? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone? :)

Parts for these old Kubota's are fairly easy to get still.
There are Kubota dealers for some parts, there are aftermarket dealers for other parts, and there were a ton of these made so used parts is fairly common.

Now for a couple of swift and painful reality kicks to the backside. ;) 😜

A loader on a B6100E (2wd) with manual steering is very very very undesirable.
They become very hard to steer and to keep enough traction on the rear wheels is hard to do.

Now as far as getting a loader that will fit it, well let's just say your odds of finding a loader that isn't already attached to a tractor is Incredibly rare.
And a loader that would be available will get top dollar.
These loaders sell for $2K to $4K in your area.

If your even considering this for winter work, don't!
A 2wd is less than ideal!

Thank you. I appreciate your feed back. I've been at my research all day, and your response to my post pretty well sums up what I have learned today. However, what other PTO attachments might make a B6100 desirable? The seller is in a pinch and is willing to let it go for a very good price. It only has a rear blade for spreading dirt or gravel, etc. Any ideas?

What kind of work do you need to do? You should be able to run a cat 1 48" brush cutter or rear mower. The lift is limited to 400# and you're starting with 14 hp, so you won't be clearing new ground but you should be able to mow grass adequately. The manual transmission will probably have transmission driven PTO, which isn't the best for mowing in close quarters, but it works. You'll want to make sure the brakes work.

If you garden, it'll pull a one-bottom plow, small disk, tiller, etc.

Edit, a small pond scoop on the 3pt might do some of what you'd do with a front end loader. Many of them are reversible to cut going backwards. My Dad moved a bunch of dirt with one on his Ford.

Thank you. This is good information to have.

Yes my B7100 is super useful for a multitude of tasks.
One of the great jobs it does is move trailers all around.
If the price is right then a B6100E is a good model to do a lot of different things.
