Hi,

New to a Kubota b6000. I removed oil bath cup for air filter and repaired cracks with jb weld. Now I am trying to remove metal screen to access the air filter. Manual says you can remove and clean, but no details.

The metal screen is welded to the center air pipe. I can pry the outside of the metal filter And it moves but it is not coming out. I can tell there is a filter behind the metal screen.

Does anyone have any advise on how to remove the metal screen and does the center air pipe come out with it.

Sorry for lengthy post.

Thanks in advance.
Jason

If you are not concerned about keeping it original you may consider putting a newer housing on it with a paper air filter. Much easier to maintain.

On most of the oil bath filters, you do not remove the screen, you remove the complete housing from the tractor and wash the housing/screen assembly in cleaning solvent, brake cleaner, simple green, or whatever you have handy. Then flush it out with a garden hose, blow it dry with air and reassemble.
