I have seen some posts here talking about the LP 3rd function kit, and getting a replacement parts on amazon for buttons, but I have the oem kit installed on my B2650 and I am missing the small clear cap that goes over the activation switch. The switch itself works fine, the little green led turns on and off but I have to poke my finger and hope to catch the edge of the plastic with my finger nail to use it.
The replacement parts is Kubota PN: 7J056-84152, and being that I am in Canada my dealer quoted me 276$ for the assembly. Can't seem to buy just the cap or even just the switch.

Any suggestions for replacing this or if anyone has some other thoughts. I have looked at the LP parts and the 3rd party options but they don't seem to match the size at least from what I can tell.

My main concern is water or something else getting in there and gumming it up and possibly making it more extensive repair than just a cap

Is there any harm in just leaving it all on all the time?

Probably better if it didn’t get water in there. Could even freeze I suppose. Could you post a picture?

Are these what you are looking for? If not, have you tried Googling “push button switch covers” ?

You can buy NKK switches from Digikey about $30.
it sounds like the 'cap' fell off, those are available. I'd email NKK direct, get two for free.

AT3002BB is NKK number for white 'cap'.....

in stock, $4+-, get it in a day ! buy2 or 3 (same shipping...) best to have a spare !!
I think I will try that cap first - I didn't see mine when it wasn't installed but it look like this is the right part.

I couldn't spend $182 dollars what my local Kubota dealer wanted for what I consider a $4 switch.

I bought this from Amazon (3) 16mm switches for $12.99 - P/N: B0975WXJ3H and took off the square metal on the switch and wired in the Socket Plug knowing an easy replacement in the future. Wiring this switch to my existing wiring harness was eased by melting new solder on the existing soldered wires to reduce that solders melting point. My wires were already short, so I didn't want to cut them.

Here is what I wired mine for the Kubota switch wiring to Replacement switch Wiring.

I slipped heat shrink tubing over each replacement switch wire and then soldered the new switch wire socket in place.

Hope this helps someone.

Hi All,

I had the issue where I flicked the little white switch cap off of my 7J056-84152 (i.e., off the switch mounted just below the joystick) and was unwilling to pay the current $200-225 for this part. I successfuly replaced the cap with NKK switch part number AT3005JB "Cap Pushbutton Round Clear/white" purchased from Digikey.com. Three of them (two spares) were around $20 with shipping and tax as of 1/26. This is a "bright LED" switch (not incandescent nor Super Bright LED).

It is easy to see how it snaps on if you look closely inside the switch, there are two dimples and the clips on the switch hook into them. Also easy to see how it can easily be flicked off. My solution is kind of kludgy but I put a piece of clear packing tape over mine and just put another piece of clear packing tap on the underside of the long piece of tape where it goes over the switch so it sticks to the orange fender but not to the actual switch cap itself. This way I can't flick it off, it works fine, and I can still see if it's on or off.

If you destroyed the switch entirely (dirt/water ingress, etc.), the exact replacement switch seems to be (I didn't buy one, but pretty sure) YB16WCKW01-5F12-JB. Right now this switch at DigiKey is around $33 - see 2nd attachment (kind of a lot for a switch in my book). You can check me at https://www.nkkswitches.com/pdf/ybnonilluminated.pdf - page D106 and D107 show the nomenclature for determining the correct switch. Also, you could use that nomenclature to ensure that if you find a cheaper switch that it would work (latching vs. momentary, etc.). BTW, even if the cap is lost, you should be able to test it by turning the switch on with your pinky fingernail or whatever - try your fingernail in multiple orientations. Make sure the tractor key is on.

There are also some other accessories that are interesting including a rubber cover for the switch and a flip up plexiglass switch cover that is spring loaded. However, the switch is up on a little pedestal and these are larger rectangular shaped doo-dads so these would be even worse looking and likely to get broken off than my tape idea. You can see all of these accessories here: https://www.nkkswitches.com/pdf/accessorieshardware.pdf

Also... Many Many thanks to the folks above that provided all the good info. I just wanted to provide actual confirmation of an actual part number from an actual source that worked successfully since I hadn't seen (or maybe missed) that confirmation. Would have been a wild goose chase without all of the input from those that did the real difficult investigative work to identify that this was an NKK YB series switch. Also, if your switch is bad, strongly consider Jeffrey Schmidt's advice to just get a solid equivalent on Amazon. With a socket for easy future replacement and at 1/6th the price, if my switch had been bad I'd have gone this route.
